Anne Davies
All of Anne's work is handmade. She uses reclaimed fabrics to create new and unique pieces. The techniques she uses include
Faux Chenille - this is the technique used to make the fabric of the item. Making the faux chenille involves putting several layers of fabric together then stitching in rows at a 45 degree angle, cutting the top four layers, then washing and drying the fabric. It is this which results in a textured appearance.
Contemptorary Patchwork - unlike the traditional patchwork which is individually handstitched, these fabric patches are stuck to a fabric base with fabric glue and then overstitched.
Other individual items where the fabrics used are attractive all that is needed is to add a button, beads or other embelishment to bring it to life.
